| Mission
to the Quarry Workers |
|
|
Agape
Bible Fellowship started its mission work among
these people at a place called Vidyanagar in 1998.
Personal Evangelism was the main concern of the
ministry, and the people started responding to
the teachings of the gospel. Now we have more
than 150 converts in our congregation, originally
they gathered in a small thatched shed attached
to the side of a house, then we built a small
thatched Church on rented ground, and now we have
built and own a multipurpose building which also
acts as our Children Centre for the Boys. The
district is called Chikkajala. |

Ministry
among the quarry workers is challenging breaking
centuries old beliefs, but rewarding and like
a chain. As the quarry worker moves from place
to place, they carry the teachings of the gospel
with them, and they are witnesses to their own
communities through their changed lives in Christ.
In these 18 surrounding villages, more than 40
thousand quarry workers are living in poverty
and under the influence of eternal darkness. We
strongly believe that the Lord is urging us to
reach them with the message of the glorious gospel
and to show Christian love and concern through
acts of mercy. We are intending to recommence
a school of basic teaching in our new building
for the children, and prayerfully the parents
will attend in the evening for adult education.
At present
we have 2 Pastors and lay workers ministering
to the quarry workers and village people.
Our future
vision is to have many cell groups in all the
villages.
Presently Pastor
Reuben conducts courses on sound biblical teaching,
and methods of applicable and simple evangelism
to reach these people with the gospel and love
of Jesus. |

Please pray
for the following needs:
Since
the missionaries and outreach workers have to
visit 18 villages mainly in the evenings, they
are in need of motorized two wheeler transport,
the roads are dirt tracks and very dangerous without
transport. We will send you the cost details if
you are interested to donate towards this cause.
We have plans to set up a
day care centre with a nutritious meal and vaccination
for the quarry workers' children, also a vocational
tailoring unit to train the young girls, making
them independent financially through their tailoring
skills. For this we need locally produced sturdy
treadle sewing machines and the running costs
like the salary of teachers and midday meals
for the girls. We will send the cost details
to the interested donors.
This is a future vision and
not costed yet; a free mobile medical clinic
providing health education, vaccination, medical
care, and medicines to the village and quarry
workers. In each village one person can be trained
to give immediate first aid. For this project
we need to appoint one doctor, two nurses, and
two community health workers, to go around the
villages as a team in a mobile clinic.
Sending another 5 missionary
families to other villages where quarry workers
are showing interest in the gospel. We need
your prayerful supports in this regard.
